Acceptance is about letting go of what we cannot change. With acceptance we can release an old grudge, hurtful memories, our dislike for others or when we may have been disrespected in the past so that we can move forwards more easily. Acceptance does not mean liking, supporting or condoning a situation though – it simply means accepting what is true and then making the best decision we can.
Acceptance also mean accepting who we are, without judgement. What we stand for, our values, our likes, dislikes, talents, weaknesses and importantly that we make mistakes. We all make mistakes. Being able to accept the truth that we are imperfect human beings is a big step in living with a greater sense of peace and calm.
